Most campus meal programs have disguised their overpriced and over processed foods with different names and sizes. With names like “All-Access” or “Lifestyle Meals” or” Block Plans” there all geared around the same business practices.

Middleway Foods was created as an alternative to those campus meal programs. Students know how important food is to the body, and they know a good meal when they taste one. Middleway has created a daily meal plan with students in mind, those students who expect a variety of fresh and healthy meal options but may not have the time, kitchen equipment, or resources to prepare their meals themselves. With 5 fresh and balanced meals to enjoy each day, parents and students who have chosen us as the better alternative to those campus meal programs will have the student’s meals delivered directly to their door or dorm building throughout the week depending on how many days per week they choose to enjoy our food.

For most parents, sending their children off to college is the first time their kids will be away from the home for an extended period of time. And this can come with plenty of things to worry about. Of course a student’s safety and mental well being is always the biggest concern for parents during that time, but one thing that parents usually don’t think about until classes have started is the importance of healthy food options for their children being away from home for the first time.
 
Our daily meal program cuts away those worries by delivering a full balanced meal directly to the student’s residence. Our subscription service was created with both students and their parents in mind. By signing up and using our service, parents or guardians can guarantee that their children will be getting fresh meals throughout the week, while also being able to login and see exactly what those individual meals are. The meals are hand selected on a weekly basis, based on the student’s preferences, dislikes, and dietary restrictions. In addition to being able to login and guarantee delivery, unlike most campus meal programs we will bill you weekly rather than a large lump sum each semester. And because we have our skip any week/ and no minimum policy if you or your student decides to take a week away from us or cancel their membership completely while we would be sad to see you go, there is no long termination process or fees you would have to worry about.

In each of our daily meal plans, we include 5 meals per day. Which include a breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, and a late snack or desert. We have found that spreading out your meals throughout the day is a key factor in maintaining a healthy diet, and fighting meal displacement. Like most students on a budget or campus meal program, students end up eating 1-2 big meals per day rather than a more balanced day of food intake. When meals are spread out throughout the day you end up eating a much larger variety of foods, and eating to provide great taste and sustenance rather than fighting away hunger.
 
One of the most important reasons why you should be eating smaller portions more frequently throughout the day is doing so can prevent the development of becoming overweight or obese. Research has shown that people who eat only two or three large meals over the course of the day tend to consume more calories and bad fats, than people who break up their meals into 5 balanced portions. Because of the large gaps in food consumption for a person who only eat 1-3 times per day, that person is so hungry that they tend to over eat to compensate for the lack of good nutrients that the body needs to maintain peak performance. This overeating leads to increased calorie intake, and eventual weight gain.
 
Eating 5 meals per day can actually help to ensure you’re getting all of the vitamins and minerals that you need to keep your body in proper working order, while also cutting out a lot of the fatty processed foods that tend to fill you up longer because of all of the unnatural chemical properties. Research has found that people who eat several meals throughout the day tend to vary their diet more than those who simply eat two or three large meals per day. Getting the proper amount of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients is essential both for good health in people of all ages and genders.
