What is Middleway Foods?

Middleway Foods is Houston fastest growing gourmet home meal delivery service. Our company’s goal is to bring delicious and freshly prepared meals to become part of your new lifestyle. Whether you’re looking for convenience, health maintenance, or maybe even weight loss, our meal plans were created to fit all of your dietary goals.

 

Simply, we’ve got all of your meal worries taken care of!

How do I get a copy of your menu?

We change our menu each week. The new menu is emailed out every week to each of our customers.

I’m not a customer yet, but can I still see your menu?

Of course! Please just e-mail sales@middleway.com with your contact information, and we’ll be sure to get in contact with you to arrange that.

You’re not a restaurant, how often do you cook?

We cook 7 days a week, 362 days a year.

Do you have a referral program?

Yes. We always ask new customers how they heard about us during the sign up process. If they heard about us from an existing customer, we give that person a day of food on us. Also, if you think you have some friends or family who would be interested in our meals just forward our information to them and once they sign up we’ll offer that full day of food to you for free!

Where is my account and how do I log in?

After you’ve signed up for an account, head over to the home page and click on the “Sign In” tab, located in the top right-hand corner of the screen. Once you are signed into your account, you will see the “My Account” tab at the top of the page.

How do I change my password?

Change your password by going to the 'Profile' tab of your account page.

What is the automatic delivery feature on my subscription?

Automatic delivery is a feature available on all active subscriptions that allows you receive your meals, week after week, without having to manage your menus.

 

Our culinary teams will hand-pick your meals that we think that you’ll enjoy based on your preferences, allergies, or ingredient solutions listed on your taste profile from your initial signup.

 

But remember there is no long-term commitment, or pay in advance programs here. You can skip a delivery or cancel your subscription at any time before the weekly cutoff.

Are there membership fees?

There are no membership fees, shipping fees, or fees of any other kind. 

When will you charge my card?

Your card is charged a few days before each order’s delivery date. You’re never charged when you skip a week, and you will not be charged immediately upon signing up. 

How do I cancel my account?

We're sad to see you go, but you can reactivate your account at any time by logging in with your email and password.

 

To cancel your account, email cancellations@middleway.com. You will receiving an email back with some next steps to follow, so please read that email carefully.

 

Please note, because we secure all deliveries 5-7 days in advance, you may still have a delivery scheduled. Please login and check the "Delivery Schedule" section to verify.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

Food Questions

I have a particular allergy to certain foods, what can I do?

Please consult your physician before beginning any new diet, particularly if you have any unique or special needs or conditions, such as food allergies, dietary restrictions, or if you are pregnant or breast feeding.

 

We take great care to ensure that all of our food is prepared safely and in a safe location, however, all of our meals and boxes are assembled in the same processing facility. As a result, we do not recommend you order from Middleway Foods if you have a serious food allergy.  

What kind of meals can I expect?

All of our meals are homemade by our professional culinary team that is passionate about creating dishes with only the finest of ingredients. Your meals will be a perfect balance of protein, carbohydrates and fats with limited salt and sugar – and are 100% delicious!

 

Our recipes and meals are inspired by dishes from all over the world so your taste buds never get tired of the same old food and flavors. And since we understand the importance of variety, we are adding new recipes and menu option weekly.

How should I prepare my meals?

Even with a busy schedule, we believe that your mealtime should be a break in your day to slow things down and enjoy your meal. We will always suggest that you take your meals out of the containers and heat them up in an oven, toaster oven, or even stove top for certain dishes. And once the food has got to your desired temperature, sit down and enjoy your meal comfortably.

 

Now of course we understand that if you are in school, at work, or just in a hurry that would be hard to do. So you can always microwave your meals in its container in just a few and enjoy your meals just the same. In the end, you taking a moment and enjoying your meals is what’s important to us!

Will my food stay fresh in transit?

Yes, each box is carefully packaged to stay fresh for several hours after your delivery arrives.  However, we recommend you put the contents in your refrigerator as soon as possible for best results.

Are your ingredients organic?

While our ingredients are not exclusively organic, we source the best quality products available, and purchase as much as possible from local suppliers with sustainable practices. We hand select each of our suppliers, farmers, and purveyors to guarantee we comfortably can stand behind each of our ingredients and meals.

What if I am pregnant?

Please consult your physician prior to beginning any diet or exercise regimen.

Do your meals fit into my existing or new healthy lifestyle?

We have consciously chosen to be a local food service provider rather than a diet company. However cooking with the standard of fresh ingredients that we do is still without question better than relying on the frozen, heavily processed, or heavy takeout food that people have gotten accustomed to.

How long do the meals last in my box?

Middleway’s meals comfortably last 4-6 days, depending on the meal. Chicken, pork, beef, and lamb will last 5-6 days, and any fruit, yogurt, or fish meals will last 4-5 days.

Do you deliver to my area?

What should I do with the packaging materials?

All of our packaging is fully reusable and or recyclable. We always recommend dropping them off at your local church, shelter, or food pantry before recycling though, because in our experience these are the items that are usually left out of the budget but are extremely important. But if choose to recycle the materials below is the individual instructions

 

  1. Box: Reuse, donate or recycle. The box is made of 100% bio-degradable material and can be broken down to save space.

  2. Gel Packs: Our gel packs are reusable. Just pop them in the freezer to use again.

  3.  Food Containers: Once you’ve enjoyed your meal, just rinse out the container and reuse it or recycle.

  4. Insulation Bag: The bag is made from a Mylar material, so it easy to recycle into any plastic facility.  

Can I store meals in a freezer?

We recommend you eat the meals fresh. But if you need to freeze the meals we encourage you to freeze meals for no longer than 2 weeks, in order to maintain maximum freshness. Please keep in mind that denser meals will freeze better than others.

What should I do with my box once it arrived?

Unpack all of your meals and place them into your refrigerator. If you don’t plan to east some of the meals before the expiration date, you may place it into your freeze to enjoy in the future, but note that the texture of some food may be affected (although it will still taste delicious)

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery is, and always will be, free!

What if I’m not home on my delivery day?

If you aren’t home, our delivery person will generally leave the package for you at your door.   Since our food is packaged with insulated liners and gel packs, it will remain cold and fresh for you until you get home later that evening.  In certain areas, you may be able to provide additional delivery instructions when creating your account, such as asking the package to be left with a doorman or neighbor.

When are my first meals expected to arrive?

Once you’ve finished signing up, head on over to you account and your first delivery date will be listed under the “Delivery Schedule” section. –Please remember that you can always skip any week before your weekly cutoff.

Can I update my delivery address?

You can always change the delivery address for your orders in the “Delivery Info” section of your account. Just be sure to make this change before the cutoff date of your upcoming order.  

Will my food stay fresh in transit?

Insulated Lunch Bag/ Reusable Gel Packs-Please take out all your meals, menus, and any other promo material we may include in your delivery and leave the emptied bag along with all of the ice packs outside of your door the night we’re scheduled to come make a new delivery.

 

*We do have a $15 dollar fee for all lost or misplaced lunch bags, so it is very important that you remember to place the bags in plain sight for our field representatives to pick up. 

How does the bag deposit work?

We charge a one-time $15 bag deposit at sign-up. At the end of service, all delivery bags and ice packs must be retrieved by Middleway in order to avoid a $15 per bag fee being billed upon the account being closed. 

Where does Middleway Foods deliver food?

We currently deliver to the entire Houston, TX area, and are growing very quickly. We are currently in development for a few more cities, and look forward to growing our business in the near future. If you have any questions about our current delivery capabilities, please call us at ***-***-**** and give us your address and we will confirm if we can deliver to you.

What if I live in a gated community?

If there is a 24 hour guard, customers will need to give the guard our name so that we can gain entry to your living community. If there is a code or key required, customers will need to give us the code or key so that we can gain further entry. Please make sure to let your customer representative know all these details! 

What time is the food delivered?

Between 2:00am and 7:00am. The food is kept in an insulated lunch bag with ice packs and has been tested to ensure that the food is kept at the appropriate temperature and safe to eat. We deliver on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

 

Monday's delivery is for Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday's delivery can be for Wednesday and Thursday or Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday depending on your meal plan.

 

Friday's delivery can be for Friday and Saturday, or Friday, Saturday, and Sunday depending on your meal plan.

What if my food is late?

Our food delivery deadline is 7:00am. We do our best to make this deadline however occasionally situations come up (car trouble or bad weather). If your meals are ever late, please call us at (***) ***-**** and inform us. We can very quickly get an estimate for how lunch until the food arrives.

What if I have food allergies?

We make every effort and use best practices to avoid cross contamination, but we cannot guarantee that there won't be any cross contamination with your meals. If you have a food allergy, please let us know at the time of your first order. But, if your allergy is sever we cannot recommend Middleway Foods for you. 

Are there membership fees?

There are no membership fees. 

What if I have a food dislike?

We ask and make notes of all of your meal preferences and dislikes during your initial sign up. We can add/change any notes or dislikes to your account at any time. To do so, just e-mail meals@middleway.com.

Are you a diet company?

We have consciously chosen to be a lifestyle food service provider rather than a diet company. For us, choosing healthy, delicious, portioned meals is the most effective way of truly creating a new long term health-conscious lifestyle.

Payment

When will you charge my card?

Middleway Foods is a weekly recurring service and we require payments to be made with a credit or debit card. Payments are processed on Fridays for the following week, and confirmation e-mails are sent out to guarantee there is no interruption in your delivery schedule.

How do I make changes to my account?

E-mail changes@middleway.com for all changes you would like to make to your account. Whether it’s changing meal preferences, number of delivery days, meal plan, or any other questions you might have, this is the best place to start. We prefer all changes be e-mailed so that we have them in writing for accuracy purposes. Please be very specific with your changes requests. You will receive a confirmation e-mail when the changes have been made.
