GENERAL CORPORATE COMPLIANCE

 

Course Description: A conflict of interest (COI) is defined as a situation in which a person or organization is involved in multiple interests (financial, emotional, etc.), one of which could possibly corrupt the motivation of the individual or organization. This course addresses types of COI, situations where COI tends to arise, and the appropriate steps an employee can to take to disclose potential COIs. The program will also include strategic tips for managing COI within an organization, including monitoring and policy development.

Fraud: Detection and Prevention

Course Description: Fraud is defined as wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain. This training program is designed to provide an overview of the different types of fraud, including common fraud schemes within the business environment. Current anti-fraud laws and their application to real-life scenarios will also be addressed, along with prevention methods designed to curtail fraudulent activity in the workplace.

MEDICAL DEVICES/PHARMA/LIFE SCIENCES

 

The Physician Payments Sunshine Act (the “Sunshine Act”)

 

Course Description: The Sunshine Act requires manufacturers of medical devices, drugs, and biologicals participating in U.S. federal health care programs to report certain types of payments and items of value given to physicians and teaching hospitals through the CMS Open Payments Program. This course helps employees and company representatives understand and apply the requirements under the Sunshine Act, including identifying and categorizing payments, reporting third party and indirect payments, and identifying exemptions from the reporting requirements.

HIPAA and Privacy Guidance

 

Course Description: The Standards for Privacy of Individually Identifiable Health Information (“Privacy Rule”) established a set of national standards for handling protected health information (PHI). This course provides an overview of the Privacy Rule under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), as well as guidance for company representatives and others who are in direct contact with physicians, staff, and other health care professionals.

Hospital Operating Room: Rules and Conduct 

 

Course Description: If the rules are not known, traversing a hospital and its operating rooms (ORs) can be an intimidating (and possibly dangerous) experience. This course addresses typical hospital rules and expectations of conduct for company representatives who routinely view and/or attend cases in the operating room (OR). The program also covers the hospital environment and staff in general, safety protocols, restrictions, preparation, and proper attire.
