Services
Dr. Eng and his team treat adults as well as children. We offer a wide range of services so that most if not all of your treatment can be done at one place. However if your treatment demands it, we have an excellent relation with the finest dental specialist in the region.
We are committed to continuing education so that we can stay current on all the advances in dental treatment. Our emphasis is on prevention and we provide options to meet your individual goals and budget. Here is a summary of the services we provide:

Preventive Care
Prevention is our first priority, and thats why regular cleanings and checkups are so important. We recomend that this be done at least every 6 months, or every 3 to 4 months if your gum health requires it. Regular cleanings involve the gentle removal of plaque and calculus (tarter) off your teeth.
Check ups require periotic x-rays, Bitewing x-rays are usually taken once a year. These are extremely useful in detecting decay between the back molars and premolars. Every five years a set of Full Mouth x-rays are taken; these are needed to check the roots of the teeth as Endwell as the surrounding bone. This information is helpful in detecting dental abscesses (infections) and periodontal (gum) disease.
Fluoride treatments are provided to all of our young patients under the age of eighteen, as well as adults that have a problem with decay.

Restorative Care
Restorative care is the rebuilding of lost tooth structure due to decay, wear, or trauma. For small and routine cases we like to use bonded composite (tooth colored) fillings. More involved cases may require Porcelain bonded crowns or porcelain on lays. Porcelain crowns provide a very life like match to surrounding teeth, giving the patient a natural smile. We also offer porcelain/gold and gold crowns.
Replacing missing teeth has always been with fixed partial dentures (Bridges), removable partial dentures, or a full denture. Now with the advent of dental implants missing teeth can be replaced entirely on their own. We work with some of the best oral surgeons and periodontists in this area to place the implant in the missing tooth space. While we construct the porcelain crown that fits on the implant.

Endodontic Care
(root canals)
Root canals have always had the stigma of being very painful. That was in the past, dentistry has come a long way since root canals were started in the 1960's. Now with modern anesthetics and new procedures, ninety five percent of all our endodontic (root canal) patients never feel any discomfort during the procedure.
A tooth requires a root canal (endodontics) when the nerve canal of the tooth is infected by bacteria, and then this causes the tooth to abscess.
The endodontic or root canal process usually takes about three appointments. Ninety five percent of all endodontic procedures are done at our office, with the rare extremely complicated cases being referred to an endodontic (root canal) specialist.

Occlusion (the bite)
In our fast paced and stressful world, Clenching and grinding occurs with almost everyone. Because this happens during sleep, many people are unaware that they may clench or grind their teeth. Normal chewing of food produces around 200 pounds per square inch whereas clenching or grinding produces 2000 pounds per square inch! This extreme pressure can cause healthy teeth to become loose, sensitive to biting and hot and cold. Other complications caused by grinding (bruxism) are TMJ or jaw joint pain; accelerated gum disease (Periodontal disease), and the wearing down of teeth. We can diagnosis and control the forces on the teeth with the help of the T-Scan computerized bite force analyzer. We are one of only a few offices in the northwest that can provide this service.
